5TH MLRARMA REFORGER · TACSIMPLEASE WAIT
ABOUT 5TH MLR
An Arma-focused, console-friendly community built by gamers, for gamers.
5th MLR was formed after a split from a large Squad community. We wanted a place focused on Arma, welcoming to console players, and led by people who are gamers first.
Our community is run by a council that includes active-duty military personnel, veteran first responders, and members from across North America.
Before the split, our group was already a USMC-themed unit. We chose to carry that heritage into our rebrand as the 5th Marine Littoral Regiment.
We created a fictional regiment inspired by the Marine Littoral Regiment concept: a mobile force operating across multiple domains in coastal regions. That setting lets us forge our own identity within the wider Arma MilSim community.
OUR APPROACH
Realistic teamwork. Room to enjoy the game.
Tactical Simulation—TacSim—is how we bring planning, organization, communication, and defined roles into our operations. We apply realistic tactics and procedures where they make gameplay more coordinated and rewarding, while keeping the experience approachable and fun.
We simulate tactics, teamwork, and decision-making. Members are not expected to roleplay military life or replicate every detail of real-world service.
Understand the mission, develop a plan, and work together to accomplish assigned tasks.
Follow the established command structure and designated leaders. Coordinate with your team rather than freelancing or chasing individual heroics.
Apply the skills learned in training to help the whole team succeed.
Wear the designated camouflage and carry equipment suited to your role. Consistent identification and effective loadouts matter more than exact replicas.
Play your assigned role and rely on others for theirs. Specialized roles create opportunities for teamwork; one person should not try to fill every position.
Use the established radio structure and procedures. Pass useful information clearly and keep unnecessary traffic down.
Use after-action reviews to discuss what worked, what did not, and what we can improve.
EVENTS / OPERATIONS / CAMPAIGNS
The level of preparation and structure depends on what we are playing.
EVENTS
Get together, enjoy the game, and try new things.
Wear the designated camouflage and broadly similar gear. Stay coordinated while leaving room for experimentation and a relaxed atmosphere.
OPERATIONS
Execute a dedicated, planned mission.
Arrive prepared, wear the designated camouflage and similar role-appropriate equipment, follow the plan and leadership, and perform your assigned role.
CAMPAIGNS
Build a connected story through a series of operations.
Meet operation standards and understand that your team’s actions help shape the battlefield and the next mission. Campaigns develop our fictional unit’s identity and capabilities.
We care about how we work together more than the exact number of magazine pouches on someone’s vest or where an accessory sits on their rifle.
We expect members to wear the designated camouflage, use reasonable equipment for their role, follow their leaders, and contribute to an organized team. There is still room to joke around, enjoy each other’s company, and have a good time.
Forward Through Resolve.
Arma Reforger is our home today, and we are also preparing for Arma 4. Our goal is to carry our community, shared identity, and commitment to teamwork into the next chapter of Arma.
FICTIONAL UNIT LORE
The origins and missions below belong to our fictional gaming setting. 5th MLR is not an official USMC or Department of Defense organization.
In our fictional setting, the 5th Marine Littoral Regiment is headquartered at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Established in 2028 as part of an imagined Marine Corps Force Design modernization, it serves as the East Coast counterpart to Pacific-based Marine Littoral Regiments.
The regiment is envisioned as a self-deployable, multi-domain force optimized for littoral operations. Its expeditionary focus spans the Atlantic, Caribbean, Arctic approaches, and European littorals.
Within this setting, the 5th MLR conducts distributed maritime operations in contested coastal environments to support fleet commanders by:
Marines in this fictional formation are trained to move frequently, remain difficult to detect, and fight in small, autonomous formations.
